Cleaning Tile Floors with Hydrogen Peroxide

And finally...Peggy just sent in this email with another peroxide cleaning tip. (We all love those - I'm a bit obssessed with hydrogen peroxide right now. I have a gorgeous green sweater with a streak of bleached out-edness to prove it, too.) Send me any tips you have for peroxide, everyone - to christina@happyslob.com. Or questions, ideas, etc, etc. I'm glad to hear from all of you.

Now, here's Peggy's tip du jour: "I use peroxide on my tile floors. It lightens the grout as well as a good clean for the floor. "

Love it! You could dilute it, or on floors that need a really good clean, the undiluted 3% variety is probably just fine. Just watch out for bleaching out your clothing! (I was using a heavier duty hydrogen peroxide at the time, so you'll probably be pretty safe with 3%...but I'm just still mourning my sweater. And whining about it, apparently.)

It seems like everyday I am learning new about hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide, if used wisely, is also beneficial for good skincare, too.

My sisters husband gives her a hard time about their kitchen grout. The tile is light and so is the grout, do you think solid 3% would help it? Is lighter grout forever stained without using harsh chemicals? The house came with most of the grout stained when they bought it, why do some husbands think wives know all the magical ways to clean things, lol? Thanks!! Sam

Silly husbands! ;) I think the peroxide would definitely help.

Oooh, we are definitely going to have to try peroxide on the floor. All of our floors, except for the bedroom, and we have 2 dogs, 3 cats, and usually at least one unhousebroken foster dog. So any good cleaning product for tile is wonderful for us!

Normally, I call for house cleaners and particularly asked the people from Gadi Leshem's Home Depot or Cover-All to take care of my carpet. For a change, I want to try cleaning my condo this weekend with this hydrogen peroxide you share.

Hi! I've been cleaning my tiles using hydrogen peroxide and clearwater. Flooring cleaning seems to be easy with this. Moreover, I found out that you can also use the 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide as a tooth whitening solution. I just love how hydrogen peroxide can be used in various ways.
