I Love This, but HATE That...How about you?

Admit it...there are certain tasks around the home that you've never really minded doing. In fact, if you're totally honest there are certain cleaning tasks that make you feel pretty darn contented, maybe even while you're completing them. (All of us like cleaning tasks more once they're done, obviously.)

For me, I really don't mind cleaning dishes. Yes, I do have a dishwasher, and yes I do use it regularly. But I don't even mind scrubbing pots and pans. There's something almost soothing about scraping along that scrubby sponge, letting my hands soak in the warm sudsy water.

What do I hate? I really don't like mopping the floor. Maybe it's because we have sort of ugly floors that are stubborn and nasty to clean. (I think that may very well be the truest reason.) Or maybe it's because the idea of dripping water on my socks is just SO unappealing. (I'm grasping for anything here now, folks.) Or, maybe I just don't like washing the floor, full stop.

The Happy Slob's Guide to Housecleaning even addresses how to minimize the time spent on tasks that we really don't like. Honestly. And, timer cleaning helps keep your cleaning focused and prioritized so that you get stuff done. Even if you don't like it a bit.

Fess up...what is the one task you LOVE to do? And what is the one that you hate more than any other? Leave a comment, thanks!

Matching socks! If I could make one apparel item disposable it would be socks.

I don't *love* any chores! :-D I don't mind laundry (except the folding part) or dishes (except the putting away part). I particularly dislike decluttering...which unfortunately is most of my problem with housecleaning.

DH won't clean a toilet.

the worst cleaning job is the oven. I have asthma and the chemicals are very harsh for my lungs. The best job is cleaning the bedroom. i.e. changing the sheets, dusting, etc. I bought a steam cleaner when I saw the advertisement showing it cleaning the oven easily and without chemicals. I haven't had time to try it but I will keep you posted.

Even though there is just my mom and myself living in a duplex I STILL hate cleaning toilets... Mom has her own bathroom and I have mine BUT I have to clean them both due to mom being blind.. Oh she thinks she can clean things so I have to SNEAK and do it when she is napping otherwise she comes in and says," I just cleaned that." LOL
But yeah, TOILETS are my worst thing to clean

I actually like to fold laundry...one of your least faves. Mostly the socks for the same reason, it's soothing. I hate doing all other chores and I'm probably a bigger slob than you are, but I don't mind the laundry.

Really, I love it all, and the gardening too! What I hate is not having enough time to do it all, being the only one in a family of three who does clean regularly, and being too tired to start or too tired to finish once I start. That's why I'm here, to pick up helpful processes that I can use and can talk husband and son in to doing.

I feel a great deal of contented accomplishment when I've done food prep after buying groceries. The one thing I really hate to do is dusting...it seems to be never ending task.

Okay, I'm weird. Laundry? No problem. Dusting? Fun! My favorite room to clean is the bathroom, because it's the smallest and easiest! Yep, I warned you I'm weird. But I HATE to do dishes (I have no dishwasher), and I HATE to put them away too. I won't fold shirts either, but I hang everything so that's not a problem! I used to hate socks but now we just buy big packs of the same kind of socks. I have to sort it by size, other than that, they all match!

From our experience, the worst cleaning jobs are the oven and refrigerators. We have been cleaning in the
Kennesaw Maid Service industry for a few years now. By far, the ovens and frigs take the most time and we usually break about even in profit/loss on those.

Mostly I hate mopping. We tiled most of our house to accommodate our pets. The cats are not so bad, but you'll never believe how much dirt 3 big-footed Basset Hounds can track into the house. My big-footed DH helps them too!Suffice to say I mop alot . . ggrrr!
