I have to say LAUNDRY!! I don't mind washing it, drying it, heck even folding it is okay... it's putting it away! I so hate dressers so I have none. I have open shelves but even then I have a hard time so lately I've been putting it into laundry baskets, folded, one for each kid, and I let them put it away. Not a perfect solution but I get out of my worst chore ;)
What do you MEAN not the ideal solution? lol I think getting your kids to put the stuff away is just common sense.
But, I totally agree with you...laundry is a real bane of my existence too!
The refrigerator. I sometimes think that mysterous gremlins are residing amidst the leftovers and creating their own play area. Trying to keep it clean is really hard to manage at times.
Nanna, you're right - there MUST be little creatures in there causing havoc. I try to clean out the fridge before doing the weekly shop, or else seriously, those little monsters take over entirely!
I guess it would have to be mopping floors, since I have not done it in quite a while. I've been wanting to get one of those nifty steam mops, but I've been holding out for a "steal" of a deal.
All housecleaning chores are my enemies.
Dusting!
It's impossible to get rid of.
I swear,by the time I finish one side of the room, the dust is already waiting for me to leave so it can settle back down.
Cleaning the toilets. We have hard water and get limey deposits in them, making them very resistant to cleaning.I can't seem to fins any product - even vinegar- that makes this task easy. :-(
I have to agree that bathrooms are my enemy -I thought I was the only person on earth to leave them 'til they're gross -and when I do finish the chore I promise to never do that again -another empty promise to myself. I've tried "magic solutions" that just require as much scrubbing as anything else, too.
Anne - apparently pumice stone works really well to remove those nasty hard water stains. Have you tried that before?
Dishes. Hate 'em. Hate 'em. HATE EM! And there are ALWAYS more. (I don't have a dishwasher)
I used to hate the toilet because of our hard water, but I don't anymore. I use shampoo to clean it -- really. I put some old shampoo in a vase and stick the toilet brush in it and sit it by the toilet. Every time I use the bathroom, I swish it out and flush before I leave the room. No more stains and it takes 10 seconds. I didn't even scrub it real well to start out -- after a week of the quick-but-frequent swish method, it was sparkling!
I HATE vacuuming. I've bought every kind of vacuum there is except the Dyson (too expensive for me). I have a bad back and leaning over to move things or picking up stuff, unplugging and plugging......I've even used the ext. cords and had central vac... I just can't do it.When I read Mom2triplets04 comment on shower stalls, that got me going too. I don't even use the shower-just my husband-and I hate cleaning his mess. I had the discussion with him about doing it himself but all he'll do is wipe down the door.
