I think ironing is just a complete waste of time. I mean, our clothes are just going to get wrinkly again, right?
Well...maybe we like the LOOK of ironed clothes, but just not the annoying labour that goes into it. So, let's all share the best ways to AVOID ironing clothes and yet still have them looking unwrinkled and lovely. (Sounds like a pricey skin creme commercial, doesn't it?)
- I'm going to experiment tomorrow with this method which sounds like it should work...lightly mist the clean, wrinkled clothes with water and pop into the dryer for a few minutes. It should de-wrinkle the stuff!
That's my ANTI-IRONING idea of the day, but I can't wait to hear from the rest of you what YOU do to avoid ironing. ;)

Boy, do I ever hate ironing. I do own an iron but it's mostly for company when they come.
My best trick is to hang up clothes as soon as they finish in the dryer.
Misting wrinkly clothes with a water sprayer and putting them in the dryer for a few minutes works really well. That stuff you spray on wrinkly clothes and let them hang out works okay but it smells strong.
If all else fails, rewash and grab them right out of the dryer this time!
Here's one happy Slob that doesn't even mist the clothes. I just put them and a fresh dryer sheet into the dryer for 10 min at a heated setting and WA-LA!

Put your clothes on a hanger and hang them in the bathroom while you take a shower/bath. The steam will relax the wrinkles.
I keep a spray bottle filled with a mix of water and a bit of liquid fabric softener. I then spray the wrinkled item well, give it a few good shakes and tugs then hang it to dry. Works like a charm!

My way is even easier. I just use a spray bottle to lightly mist the clothes after I put them on. It works great on most fabrics. The clothes are dry in about 5 minutes.
I wet a drier sheet or get a damp wash cloth and spray it with fabric softener and throw it and the wrinkled item in the drier for approx 5 minutes, not only does it look good it smells like it was just washed too. It doesn't leave any spots that spraying with fabric softener would. Using the damp washcloth method also elevates waste, there is nothing to throw away.
I put them in the dryer with a dampened towel for a few minutes.
I am SO glad to hear that I'm not the only one who hates ironing! Yay! lol
Betty, forgive me. Are you a "Martha" fan? I remember something about her ironing SHEETS! Yep.
Let's face it, clothes look better ironed. I used to enjoy ironing, but not I do not have the time. I use the 10 min. approach. After washing, place in dryer for 10 minutes, shake, then hand to dry overnight. I find this method is better than the spritz method.
I hear you there-I absolutely hate ironing! I finally found a solution though! I threw my iron out and bought a Whirlpool Fabric Freshener! I just hang my shirts in their and fill the cup with distilled water, and 30 minutes later my shirt comes out smelling like new and it takes almost all the wrinkles out! Best part is it only uses steam! Normally they retail for about $219-However I found this code that you can use to get $30 off! Just enter code FF253 when you order it from this site: http://www.whirlpool.com/catalog/product.jsp?src=Search&categoryId=442&productId=513 Just enter the code when you get to the Order Review and Payment Tab! I found that the price was definitely worth not having to iron again!
Sometimes, nothing will get the crease out of that rolled hem or floppy pocket flap except an iron. When that happens, I cheat: I only iron the hems and problem areas, and only enough to get them to lay flat. That way, you don't have one thoroughly-ironed spot on a garment that, for the most part, has not been ironed.
