Homemade Oxy Clean Recipe

I'm excited about this one. :) Because I know that a lot of you still like using this stuff - but I've come up with an alternative for you to try! Big thanks to the reader who submitted this homemade cleaning recipe.

HOMEMADE OXYCLEAN
* 1 cup hot water
* 1/2 cup baking soda
* 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide
Mix ingredients. To use on clothes, soak the clothing in it for 20
minutes to overnight; then wash as usual

I plan on trying it for the 1st time tonight! If any of you give it a try, please post your results here or send them to me at christina@happyslob.com . Thanks!

Yes, please let us know how well this turns out. I have heard great things about "oxygen" cleaners, such as no residue, great cleaning powers, etc. I just haven't bought it because it's expensive!

check your local grocery store in the soap isle as you can find the hydrogen peroxide in gal, jugs just like bleach- it will say Colour safe oxygen bleach- 100 percent chlorine-free --it is the same strength but much cheaper to buy and of course you can just use it in the wash with or with out the baking soda= very good for blood and I just spray it on and let it sit for a few minutes and toss in laundry- test check on materials as with any cleaner- here in Alberta I get it at Super store but I am sure u could find it at other stores-- huggles me

Does anyone have a recipe to mix up for refilling my teensy-weensy bottle of Oxy Clean Sprayaway Instant Stain Remover? I love the stuff, but a .47 fl oz bottle? Who are they kidding?!? I have a big canister of the powdered Oxy Clean, and I'm just wondering if someone's come up with the ratios to re-create this Instant Stain Remover???

I mixed a batch and soaked my pillow cases overnite that had oils, sweat and face gunk on them. After the wash they looked great! Plain laundry detergent just wouldn't do the job.
